This May 14th, in the tour of the continent 's migratory route, it was Mexico' s turn, and we were accompanied by Dr. Guillermo Yrizar Barbosa from IBERO Puebla.

Mexico has a relevant geopolitical location on the map of human mobility, being a country of origin, transit, destination and return. In particular, Guillermo spoke to us about forced migrations, emphasizing the different levels of vulnerability. He spoke about the diversification of the profiles of those who migrate, which have recently become more complex. He also referred to the externalization of borders, where there are no longer only physical walls, but human walls of containment and hardening of borders, especially in southern Mexico. He mentioned current data on refugee claimants, detention centers, and much more information. Finally, he invited us to strengthen the work in solidarity networks, to know how to listen, looking in the eyes of the people on the move.

His presentation is available here.
