In the last roundtable discussion of the South-North Migration Route of the 2024-2025 cycle, we had the valuable participation of our colleague and friend Alejandra Buitrón Cabello, Coordinator of the Network for Migrants, Immigrants and Refugees of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
Alejandra gave us an overview of what is happening in the United States since the beginning of the new administration in January 2025 and the important changes that have occurred in immigration policies and how this affects other countries in the region. We also shared about the broad mobilizations that are taking place at the national level and the demands for which both U.S. citizens and immigrants are raising their voices, as well as the call to action with caution.
As it was the closing session, participants were invited to give their comments on what they have learned in this space and what it has invited them, through the mentimeter application. A form was also provided as a way of evaluation considering the next edition of the dialogue tables.
