Last meeting in the framework of the 40th anniversary of the Intercontinental Network for Popular Education and Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC)
Members of the Sacred Heart family gathered for the final event of the Continental Network on Popular Education and JPIC. The gathering, titled “Sustainability from the Legacy of Francis and Madeleine Sophie”, offered a space for spiritual connection, deep reflection, and shared commitment to integral ecology, grounded in the spirituality of the Heart of Jesus and the teachings of Pope Francis.
This Continental gathering was a spiritual, educational, and community-based experience that brought together participants connected to the Sacred Heart charism around the theme of sustainability, rooted in the legacy of St. Madeleine Sophie and Pope Francis. Through participatory dynamics, symbolic moments, prayer, and presentations, a shared sense of purpose emerged from a spirituality of transformation.
🌱 Presentation by the Laudato Si’ Movement
Allyssa Whrigt from the Laudato Si Movement in the United States, shared a powerful reflection on ecological spirituality as a path of conversion and collective action. Concrete initiatives such as Laudato Si’ Circles were presented, and the deep connection between faith, ecology, and social justice was emphasized.

🎤 Presentation from the Amazonia
Cristian Varela, focolare missionary from Argentina in the Brazilian Amazonia, offered a strong and hopeful youth voice, linking contemporary social movements with embodied spirituality. He issued a powerful invitation to move from passivity to action, from guilt to shared commitment.
