Dear Popular Education community,
From Mexico, we share with you a delicate situation that we are experiencing in various states of the country.
In recent hours, there have been acts of violence linked to reactions from organized crime following a federal operation in Jalisco against the group known as the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. These events have led to roadblocks, vehicle burnings, and attacks on businesses in states such as Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, and other regions of the country.
Beyond the media coverage, we want to share that this situation is creating uncertainty in our communities, especially in contexts where we work on community organizing, training, and hope.
As a network that promotes dignity, collective organization, and social transformation, we ask you to:
• Join us in prayer/meditation for peace in Mexico.
• Keep the most vulnerable communities in mind.
• Strengthen reflection on how structural violence impacts our territories.
• Support us through international solidarity.
We deeply believe that popular education not only transforms structures, but also sows peace in complex contexts.
We appreciate your closeness and fraternal accompaniment.
